Memorial Day Weekend

Flags placed on Boston Common for each Massachusetts resident who lost his life in service to his country. Flags were placed by the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund. The flags can be seen throughout the weekend on the hill in front of the Sailors and Soldiers Monument by the Parade Ground.

The image below gives a better sense of just how many flags there are.

This is breathtaking. It reminds me of the feeling I had when visiting the American Cemetery at Normandy beach.

Gosh, the second photo is chilling.
I do think it's important to make such visual impact in order to help us realise just the tragedy that war is.

Wow. Your top shot is incredible but the bottom shot is quite overwhelming! Too many lives ost, itis indescribable.
